THREE SEAS INITIATIVE CONGRESS (3SICongress)
The Association is a voluntary, self-governing, and permanent non-profit association composed of individuals and legal entities, established to integrate the international agricultural industry of the Three Seas countries, representing and promoting it domestically and internationally. The Three Seas Congress Initiative aims to promote the improvement of the quality and efficiency of domestic agricultural production, its competitiveness, and contributing to the advancement of the Three Seas countries and their regions, as well as to support individuals and organizations engaged in such activities. The Association aims to ensure the Three Seas countries’ leadership position in the agricultural and commodity markets by ensuring product quality and consumer satisfaction. Members’ involvement in the Association’s activities, while respecting values, responsibility for actions taken, and effective cooperation within and outside the organization, is the foundation upon which the Association bases its activities. In its activities, the Association is guided by the pursuit of excellence in achieving its goals and creating opportunities for the development of the organization, its members, and all entities associated with the agri-food industry. The organization’s core values are respect, cooperation, and responsibility. The association’s headquarters is in Warsaw. Its area of operation is the European Union. The association has regional branches in Austria.
The Association’s goals are:
- To work towards increasing the efficiency and competitiveness of agricultural production in the Three Seas countries, in particular through the highly efficient use of labor, materials, energy, and the environment.
- To comprehensively disseminate information and appropriate actions to improve the civilizational level of the Three Seas countries, including Poland, and their regions, taking into account the principles of sustainable development, protection of environmental and natural resources, and their use for the production of high-quality food.
- To promote and support the development of agriculture in the Three Seas countries, including rural and agricultural infrastructure, in particular agricultural technology, storage facilities, and water management, fertilization, and plant protection systems.
- To build a base for food security in the European Union based on the cooperation of agricultural producers, scientists, traders, processors, and exporters from the agri-food industry.
- To promote a healthy lifestyle and diet using agricultural products from the Three Seas countries and the European Union, including Poland.
- Promotion and development of scientific research for innovation in agriculture, food processing, energy, environmental protection, and the protection of nature and its resources.
- Promotion of good agricultural and phytosanitary practices.
- Promotion of high-quality food production not only in industrial plants but also in local processing plants.
- Activities supporting the organization of trade in agricultural crops, fruits, and vegetables, including potatoes, and their products on local, regional, national, and international markets.
- Representing the interests of association members, in particular ensuring members’ status as representatives of the agri-food sector before European Union institutions, as well as other international organizations such as the United Nations (FAO, UNECE), WTO, OECD, and before the authorities of third countries. Liaison with EU authorities and the authorities of individual member states;
- Initiating cooperation with other industries aimed at developing the food market and expanding the space for socio-cultural and economic development in rural areas of the Three Seas Initiative countries.
- Influencing central and local government bodies and submitting initiatives to relevant state and EU bodies aimed at developing the agri-food industry. Providing opinions on draft legal changes closely related to the industry.
- Participating in national and international research and development, training, and educational programs to exchange ideas and experiences important for the agricultural sector.
- Actively participating in the creation of strategies, policies, programs, and legal regulations related to the agricultural sector.
- Conducting lobbying and public relations activities for the development of the food sector in the Three Seas countries.
- Raising funds for the Association’s activities from all available domestic and foreign sources and through partnerships.
- Promoting and protecting all products and products resulting from the economic, intellectual, and social activities of members and the Association.
- Representing the interests of the Three Seas countries in the supply chain to strengthen its position;
- Protecting and promoting the general interests of producers, including trade in agri-food products, in the spirit of free enterprise and free trade. Protecting the image of the Three Seas countries, including the EU agri-food industry and its products, particularly in the media at home and abroad.
- Providing association members with assistance in harmoniously adapting the quality of their production to product standards that meet the requirements of global and European consumers, providing a forum for promoting the consumption of agricultural products.
